Thru Dec. 23 - Amish Family Christmas - Freedom Chapel Dinner Theatre,15 North Bridge Street, P.O. Box 63, Christiana, PA 17509, 610-593-7013. Returning for its third season! Introducing a new song, "Precious Angels" in memory of the vicitms of the Nickel Mines Amish School. Rachel and Jacob are expecting their first child near Christmas and many changes have occurred in the family. What new surprises are in store for the King family? What heartache have Amos and Sadie been hiding?

Thru Dec. 24 - Open Air Theatre Fountain: Christmas - Longwood Gardens, US Route 1, Kennett Square, PA 19348, 610-388-1000. Featuring 750 jets in changing patterns—dancing fountain shows are set to holiday music on the hour from 10:00 am– 4:00 pm, and continuously from 5:00–9:00 pm.

Thru Dec. 29 - Peace, Love & My Mother-in-Law - Rainbow Dinner Theatre, Route 30, Paradise, PA 17562, 800-292-4301. This winner of Rainbow Dinner Theatre's Christmas playwriting competition from the year 2000 will be revived this winter due to popular demand. When a couple of newlyweds invite the family over for their first Christmas dinner, it should be a joyous occasion. And it will be, if the newly married wife can get her husband and her mom to promise not to kill each other! Don't worry, despite the very funny bumps along the way, this family will find enough Christmas spirit to carry them through to the new year, and so will our audiences. Reserve early--Christmas tickets always go way too fast and the season will be here before you can say "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!"

Thru Jan. 3, 2010 - The 2009 Christmas Show American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Hwy. E. (Rt. 30), Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700, 800-648-4102. Constantly compared to Radio City Music Hall, American Music Theatre’s Christmas Show is widely hailed as one of America’s best. You will enjoy a wide variety of secular and sacred Christmas songs, ranging from outstanding a cappella renditions to powerful orchestral versions. You’ll delight in comedy sketches fun for kids 1 to 92, the lovely AMT dancers and an appearance from Santa himself. Thru May 2010 - Sense of Time Special Exhibit Opens - National Watch & Clock Museum, 514 Poplar St., Columbia, PA 17512, 717-684-8261 ext.237. Exhibit explores the ancient measurement devices of Asian Fire Clocks.

Dec. 4 - Old Fashioned Christmas Friday Nights - Kitchen Kettle Village, Rt. 240, Intercourse, PA. 717-768-8261. Come enjoy the spirit of the season with “no mess, no fuss” cookie baking, holiday entertaining demonstrations, smore making, roaming musicians and oodles of specialty shopping. Experience Christmas with Mrs. Claus & Yummie beginning at 6:30pm. Families can enjoy a holiday feast at The Kling House Restaurant (includes family style dining, storytelling with Mrs. Claus & Yummie and a special gift for children). Dec. 4 - First Fridays: Lancaster - City of Lancaster, Lancaster, PA 717-291-4758. Over 90 art galleries and shops extend their hours and stay open to 9:00 pm - some even later!

Dec. 4 - Christmas in the Park - Lititz Springs Park, Lititz, PA, 717-626-8981. Tree lighting and songfest in Lititz Springs Park.

Dec. 4 - 5 - Hometown Christmas Weekend - Downtown Lititz, PA. Santa will arrive and join in the festivities on Friday evening and his visiting hours for the holidays will start that night. Sponsored by Lititz Kiwanis Club. On Sat. Dec. 5th, Santa and the Mrs. will take their traditional morning fire engine ride about town on Lititz Fire Company's # 1 engine. They will then take up visiting hours for the rest of the holiday season. Regular visiting hours thereafter will be: Fridays, 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturdays, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Dec. 4 - 6 - Day Out With Thomas™ - Strasburg Rail Road, Route 741, Strasburg, PA, 717-687-7522. Join Thomas the Tank Engine™, a full-sized operating steam locomotive, as he greets friends of all ages. Ride a train pulled by Thomas and meet Sir Topham Hatt™. Dec. 30 - Feb. 6, 2010 - Nunsense - Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, 510 Centerville Road, Lancaster, 717-898-1900. The best selling show in Dutch Apple history! When Sister Julia, Child of God, accidently poisons most of the covent with her cooking, the remaining sisters must put on a show to raise money to bury the last four "blue nuns" in the ice box! The musical includes a kick line of nuns and so many jokes, you'll remember why they call it "habit-forming"!
